Getting started
1. Install
Sign in on the Account page and download the Extension. Unzip it, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click "Load unpacked" and choose the unzipped folder. Pin Agent EMP Extension from the puzzle-piece menu.
2. Sign in with your Agent EMP access email
Use the email address on your Agent EMP access list. We email you a one-time sign-in link — no password. This sign-in is only for Agent EMP Extension; it isn't your HealthSherpa, CMS or other platform login.
3. Connect this browser
Open the Extension and press Connect this browser. A page opens with your code filled in. Choose ACA or Medicare, review and accept the Terms and Privacy Notice (first time only), then approve. The Extension connects within a few seconds.
4. Choose an interval and press Start
Go to the tab you want refreshed, open the Extension, keep the default 3 minutes (180 seconds) or pick 1, 5, 10 minutes or a custom number of seconds (60 or more), and press Start. Chrome asks for access to that one site.
Each tab has its own countdown and last/next refresh time. Use Pause, Stop, or "Stop all tabs" any time.
What the statuses mean
| Active | Your Agent EMP access is active. You can start refreshing. |
| Access off | Your Agent EMP access is off, or you're no longer on the access list. All timers stop. They become available again on the next check after your access is active — start them again yourself. |
| Paused by admin | An AgentEmp admin paused your access. All timers stop. |
| Can't verify | The Extension couldn't confirm your access (for example, no internet or a service problem). Timers pause and resume automatically once access is confirmed. |
| Not connected | This browser isn't connected, was disconnected, or needs you to accept updated terms. Open the Extension and press Connect this browser, or sign in to your Account. |
Status changes take effect on the next check (about once a minute), not instantly.
Troubleshooting
- Start is greyed out: check the status at the top of the popup, and make sure you're on a regular web page (not a chrome:// page).
- "Waiting — you're typing": the page has unsaved edits. Save or submit your work; refreshing continues after that or after you reload the page yourself.
- Timers gone after restarting Chrome: timers end when the browser closes. Your interval for each page is remembered — just press Start again.
- No sign-in email: check spam, and make sure you used the email on your Agent EMP access list. Only emails on an active Agent EMP access list receive one.
- Connection code expired: codes last 10 minutes. Press Connect this browser again.
What it won't do
Agent EMP Extension only reloads pages. It can't keep a HealthSherpa, CMS/FFM or any other session active, prevent logouts, or replace required sign-in or re-authentication, and we make no promise about any website's uptime.
